Not all that glitters is gold, but this milk certainly is worth its weight in milk! When the weather gets a little cool and my throat begins to get a little sore, this milk is a delicious lifesaver. It’s super simple and made with wholesome ingredients (1 cup milk, 1 tsp brown sugar, 1 tsp turmeric, ¼ tsp cardamom, pinch black pepper, ¼ tsp salt, and ½ tsp ghee). When available, I use fresh turmeric as the taste is so much better, but you can also use pre-ground turmeric powder. I know the salt may seem a little weird to put in milk, but it helps soothe your throat and the sweet salty combination of the milk is really delicious. Definitely save this recipe for the future cold months!
