MANGO JALAPENO SAUCE

this sauce is absolutely MANGO-nificent!  You can use this sauce as a topping for ice cream, a layer in yogurt parfaits, a mixer for mocktails, dipping sauce for spring rolls, or my favorite a salad dressing.

It’s made with all fresh, whole ingredients and contains none of the additives and preservatives that are found in store-bought sauces. Let me know how your favorite way to use this sauce!

INGREDIENTS

1 cup diced ripe mango

1 jalapeño, finely minced (to taste)

¼ cup cilantro, finely shredded

1 tbs lime juice

2 tbs extra virgin olive oil

Salt and pepper (to taste)

Hot water (as needed to thin)

Notes:

* If you’re using this sauce as a topping, mixer, or dipping sauce, then only add 2 tbs of water to start with and add 1 tbs more at a time until you have the consistency that you want. If you’re using this sauce as a dressing, then you will need to add more water, but still add only a little at a time.

* I like this sauce with a little texture to it, so that’s why I finely dice/mince all of the ingredients, but you can blend the mango and pulse the other ingredients in the food processor for a smoother consistency.

METHOD

1 Add all ingredients to a large mouthed jar

2 Cover and shake vigorously for 1 min until well combined 3 Enjoy in your favorite way!
