LADI PAV (HOMEMADE BUNS)

these soft, fluffy buns are amazing!! They are a little intensive because of the “rest” time, but with a little planning in the morning, you can enjoy these for dinner. We eat them most often with pav bhaji, but they are so good just toasted with butter too. I haven’t tried making them vegan, but I believe you can substitute vegan milk and butter and get similar results. Let me know if you try making these!

1 ¼ cup warm milk

2 tsp sugar

1 packet quick yeast

1 ½ cup all purpose flour

1 ½ cup whole wheat flour

2 tbs softened butter

METHOD

1 Activate the yeast by combining 1 cup of the warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a bowl

2 Add the flours and salt and knead until the dough is formed

3 Add the butter and knead the dough. Let the dough rest covered for 2 hours in a warm place

4 Punch the dough and knead it slightly to the remove air

6 Brush the tops of the dough balls with milk

7 Cover the dough balls and let rest for 20-30 min
