obviously eating whole fruits and veggies is best, but juicing is a delicious way to add variety and healthy options to your daily diet. I usually make these 3 juices at the same time and drink them over two days. It’s best to drink these juices on an empty stomach for maximum benefit. Typically, the first ingredient listed below is half of the raw produce for the juice and then I use different combinations for the remainder half. I do not follow a set recipe for any of the juices – I just use what I have on hand or what looks fresh at the store. Let me know what combinations you make!
1 – Green juice (detox) – celery, spinach/lettuce/kale, cucumber, green apple, lime, ginger, mint/basil. Optionally add green grapes, pineapple, kiwi, pear, cilantro
2 – Orange juice (immunity) – carrot, peach/nectarine, turmeric, cantaloupe, ginger. Optionally add orange/tangerine/grapefruit, pineapple, ground cinnamon, mango
3 – Red juice (energy) – beets, apple, lime, ginger. Optionally add watermelon, strawberries, raspberries, watermelon, red cabbage, red grapes, blueberries, blackberries
I am not a doctor but here’s a summary of my research – be sure and consult your doctor for any specific questions:
1 – Celery is anti-inflammatory, low in calories, and helps flush out waste
2 – Carrots are full of antioxidants, immunity boosting, and rejuvenate the skin
3 – Beets are anti-inflammatory, help control blood sugar, and improve cardiovascular health (reduces blood pressure)
