AVOCADO TOAST – The secret to AVO great day is starting it off with a smart, healthy breakfast. The basics of an avocado toast are a crunchy toasted bread (my preference is a whole grain hearty bread or sourdough bread) and avocado mash (avocado, salt, lime juice). The ways to oomph up the toast are endless– thinly sliced green chilis, red pepper flakes, black pepper, cilantro, cherry tomatoes, everything bagel seasoning, chopped red onion, ground cumin, etc. The possibilities are endless – Let me know how you enjoy your avocado toast!
2 slices bread
1 ripe avocado, peeled and sliced
½ lime
Salt to taste
Optional – garlic and your favorite garnishes
Method
1 Toast your bread slices
2 Optionally, rub a peeled garlic clove on the toasted bread
3 Lay the avocado slices on top of the bread
4 Sprinkle salt and squeeze lime over the top
5 Garnish with as many or few toppings as you like
